T’Pack of Wolves is a Philadelphia-based music collective led by songwriter and creative visionary Terrell Barnes. Known for blending raw street energy with introspective storytelling, Barnes has built a sound that reflects both the struggle and strength of urban life.
With a pen rooted in authenticity, his music captures themes of survival, ambition, loyalty, and elevation. His work stands at the intersection of Hip-Hop grit and R&B soul, creating a sound that resonates with both the streets and the mainstream.
Barnes represents a new era of independent artistry, focused not just on music, but on brand-building, ownership, and long-term legacy. In January 2026 T'Pack of Wolves managed to get a distribution deal with ROC Nation upon releasing their first R&B album “Obsidian Vibes” available on most music platforms.
What motivates me to write is the hardship and experiences that my people go through. Living in a community that's crime infested, I've seen far too many people die over petty issues. Unfortunately, my son Tyhir Barnes aka JaQuil was among the many murdered in the streets of Philly. JaQuil was an upcoming rapper with great talent. At the age of 15 years old, JaQuil had many songs recorded.
I was also a young rapper with a lot of talent, but I didn't want to pursue a career in music. I was more into running the streets and making money. Tyhir was watching how I was moving around and running the streets. A few times he mentioned that he wanted to rap like me and get into the entertainment industry.
Months after he was buried, I was blessed with my first daughter. It wasn't until then; I decided to leave the street-life and become a better man and father.
I left the life of crime and started to walk a narrow path. Shortly after, I started to get spiritual visits from Tyhir who was telling me to get back into writing & making music. At first, I ignored it and tried to focus on building my business, although it wasn't my passion. But one night I got a visit and a vivid vision from Tyhir. That was the start for me getting back into writing and making music.
Since then, I became more focused in my writing and following my passion for making music. So, every song I make is honored to my son Tyhir as I hear his frequency in my ear.
